i know its been a while since Silence is Easy has been out, and i saw this review a while ago but i was too lazy to post it up, but now i have some time and thought i should post it.
http://umbrellamusic.com/cdreview.php?id=548
umbrella music is a site that mainly deals with Canadian music, thought it reviews many CD's of bands that arent Canadian. (ie: starsailor)
tell me what you think, its not what most of you probably want to hear, but i think its fair to show opinions that arent all always positive.
some of the things the reviewee says i agree with, but i kinda agree with what the reviewee had to say. in my opinion, I enjoyed the "Love is Here" album a whole lot more then i enjoyed Silence is Easy.
please dont hate me. _________________ what is the mind? no matter. what is matter? never mind.

What that review says is in no way unique or unusual, I've read its like several times and they are views often expressed here as well. At least he didn't resort to just making personal insults to make a point as most do and it was at least a review, which at the end of the day is one person's opinion of the recording. But I would have more respect for reviewers if they could at least give it enough attention to flip the sleeve over and get the song titles right: "At The End of the Shadow"!? Please. Maybe whoever typed it up just couldn't read his writing . . . _________________ Keeper of Good Souls Interactive at Starsailor.net

I'm with you 'Boo - at least he did actually review the album, not just 'slag off' the band for some imagined kudos. _________________

I didn't think the review was too awful, I've definitely seen worse... it must be difficult being a music critic- you have to be open to so many different genres of music. I guess Starsailor is just not his cup o' tea! I know plenty of people who feel that way. |
