I'm thinking that it's a sorry state of affairs when you have to don your reading glasses to squeeze a spot.

Laughing my eyes are getting worse and worse. I really should use reading glasses for my work, but it is pure vanity that is stopping me from wearing them. Foolish, I know!!!

It only gets worse. Before long you will need your glasses AND a magnifying mirror to see those spots. I believe that poor sight is natures way of allowing us to gracefully enter old age. Without our glasses our spots and wrinkles are diminished, and if your partner ages the same way as you, you forever look youthful to each other.

My comment was really about the irony of getting spots, but needing reading glasses at the same time. Trust me, a magnifier wasn't necessary for this one. I like your explanation though, I'll take that. Laughing

I'm wondering whether I'm the only person who seemingly has issues with the Post Office these days - it never used to be like this. I had a small parcel to go today, labeled and paid for it this morning using the on-line service and Mr Boo took it with him to hand in to the post office at lunchtime. There then ensued a ridiculous conversation with the daft lass behind the counter. She told him that as it was 'internet postage' he had to post it on the internet - he couldn't hand it in at the post office. There was a back and forth where she repeated the same statement several times with increasing volume. So Mr Boo asked her how exactly he should post it 'on't'internet' - perhaps he needed to shove it into the CD drawer of his computer maybe? Her only response to that was "what d'you mean?"

A colleague helpfully explained, but eventually had to do it for her, she clearly wasn't grasping it. I realise that they offer a wide and diverse range of products and any member of staff can't necessarily be expected to know everything - but this strikes me as pretty fundemental.

You couldn't make this shit up.

It's not true for everyone. We, the shortshighted, don't need our glasses to see the spots (if any) or to read Wink .

My latest adventure with the post office... I found a paper in my letterbox from the postman about a parcel waiting for me at the post office, with the address of this post office on the back. I went the next day and, after having queued about 20 minutes, they didn't find my parcel. I went again the next day, and no parcel (I queued 20 minutes again). The next day, I phoned the delivery service. They told me the parcel was not at this post office but at another one. I went to this other post office and got my parcel after having queued 15 minutes. Hurray, at least they didn't lose it this time Laughing .

Well, you're lucky then - I'm short-sighted and still need reading glasses - largely on account of my arms being too short.

I'm shocked. I was just happily googling pics of Jack Sparrow, when I stumbled upon a picture of a 6 weeks old kitten who was so severely abused that he died.

Now I will feel guilty for the rest of my life! Crying or Very sad
