I'm delighted to announce that Starsailor will once again be playing at the Isle of Wight festival. They're playing on the last day, Sunday 15th June 2008. The headliners on that date are The Police, their only UK date this year, on their massive world tour.

Unfortunately, all 50,000 tickets are already sold out to the festival that won the award for 'Best Major UK Festival', but if you already have them, this will be an added bonus, amongst what's shaping up as a great line-up.

The Isle of Wight Festival, now in its 7th year since its reincarnation in 2002, takes place over the weekend of 13th – 15th June, as previously, at Seaclose Park in Newport on the Isle of Wight.

Already confirmed as playing, variously over the 3 days, are Kaiser Chiefs, Sex Pistols and The Police as headliners, with Lily Allen, KT Tunstall, Iggy and The Stooges, Ian Brown, The Kooks, N.E.R.D., James, Kate Nash, Hoosiers, Delays, Newton Faulkner and Scouting for Girls. More are due to be announced this evening, along with Starsailor.

Shame I won't be there, it will be some years before my Festie boots are back on.

I already had tickets so this is great news. I bought tickets on the strength of a good time there last year but I must admit I wan't bowled over with the line up this year (sex pistols headlining saturday Shocked

) but this has certainly made it worth while

I think that it's very unlikely that it will be quite as early as April. Late spring/early summer I think is most likely now.

I don't really mind when they release the album, they should take as much time as they think they need to bring us the best possible album.

I do hope any gigs in Holland won't coincide with my stay in Cork. My mum really wants to see them again but I don't think she'll go if I'm not there. And of course I wouldn't want to miss the gig myself!
Also, one of my best friends is now a big Starsailor fan and I want to take her to see them, which will of course be slightly complicated if they play in Holland when I'm in Cork and she's in Seattle Laughing
