Omg what a great night! I sadly caught the last couple of songs from Liam, but from what I heard he was amazing!
I'd say about 200 people in the room, tiered seating at the back as well which was quite cool. James came on and played stuff from LIE, SIE and ATP , although, someone correct me if I'm wrong, nothing from On The Outside.
Could this be a possible hint for stuff to expect on tour?
Few songs from memory,
LIH - Alcoholic, Poor Misguided Fool, Good Souls, Lullaby
SIE - Silence Is Easy, Four to the Floor
ATP - All The Plans, Boy in Waiting, The Thames, Tell Me It's Not Over (+ some banter about not being able to sing B.F's backing vocals as he may get sued )
Covers - Something by Bruce Springsteen, Dancing Queen [Abba], songbird [Oasis]
Hope everyone else who went had a great night, I kept my eyes open for a few faces I might recognise but sadly saw no-one from here... although there was one guy who I know from forum, a bit unexpected but still!
Time for me to sleep, off down south tomorrow for another gig in Brighton, this time a band called My Federation

amazing gig! it was great to hear the new songs live. James was on top form although he didn't strip for us as requested by someone at the back! not even for comic relief.
the venue was lovely nice and intimate and the acoustics were great.
the crowd was a bit unresponsive I thought.
Who was the unfortunate woman who got hit on the head with the mike? poor thing. it stopped silence is easy dead in its tracks.!
All in all a great acoustic set - although the rest of the guys were there I missed their sound.
And J you didnt play restless heart ! never mind. maybe next time. _________________ My restless heart beats like a wanton drum |

Great night, venue was nice huge mirrorball made me a bit dizzy though.
Liam Frost had a brilliant voice - talented guy.
James good as ever nice to see rest of band there in support sat near me singing their heads off - at least they knew all the words Not sure about Stel was getting in a heated exchange with some female
pretty good entertainment in itself.
Sat next to Mrs Walsh (James mother) who read this mb regulary so behave yourself folks. Great sport met up with Butty (Julie and her daughter Laura) Gollum again and Mojopin(Kelly).
Had to laugh as James mum and Laura got told off for standing on seats and nearly evicted. Despite pleas 'You dont know who I am? James perhaps you shouldnt let your parents out again!!lol
link to pics - hopefully it will allow you in -

Possibly for the first time. Not the best Springsteen song, but a great example of how good his 'pop' songwriting is.
The latter part applies to 'Dancing In The Dark', which remains one of my favourites. _________________ ....please don't turn your back, i'll change..... |

I knew we would be in for a treat... WOW The pictures are great BTW as is the review. I recognise some of the faces from last night.
Absolutely fantastic night I'll never forget I can't believe I was only a couple of feet away from James, sometimes a little less. He is just fabulous, such an amazing voice. It was good to him smiling like he was enjoying it as much as we were. The venue just made it all the more special.
James performed the best version of Dancing Queen I have ever heard. As most people have already commented, it was good to hear the new songs from All the Plans as well as some of the old ones. While I know there were a few favourites missing but James was never going to have time sing them all!
Thank you, Xfm and Starsailor and Boo but most of all James for making this happen. |
