When I first played the new album, I have to admit I was very unsure of whether I was going to like it or not. It was very different from what I was expecting. But this morning, after playing it for about the sixth, seventh or eight time - i've lost count- something wierd happened to me. I started getting the old ' hairs on the back of the neck standing up' thing, and the lump in the throat that James' voice usually gives me. The whole works!
Now I know how Paul feels!
What strange kind of magic is this that you are conjuring up, Mr Walsh and co???!!!
I also have to relate that my daughter came dancing down the stairs at the intro to Four to the Floor, singing, 'Ooooooooh, love to love you baby', and I had to laugh because the way she did it, it fitted in perfectly!! _________________ A Moomin is for life, not just for Christmas.xxx

I had exactly the same experience in my relationship with the album - I e-mailed the record label and management about a week after I first heard it and said that I'd just reached the 'squeal factor moment' and got a neck mohecan when listening to it - I suddenly 'got it'. _________________ Keeper of Good Souls Interactive the official fan archive at Starsailor.net

I did write a lengthy 'review' that I entitled 'my personal ramblings' on Silence is Easy for the band and record label as they asked me to, some weeks ago, which looking back at now, really does reflect a lot of what is being said by people listening for the first time this week.
Would anyone be interested in reading it, if so I'll pop it on a non-public page on Good Souls. It is very much a personal reflection and in no way a qualified professional review and needs to be read in that manner. _________________ Keeper of Good Souls Interactive the official fan archive at Starsailor.net

I'd like to read it Boo.
I felt a similar way about the album, but have now reached the 'can't get the songs out of my head' stage, and I just want to play it all the time. So I think I'm there!
Glad it's clicked with you Joey! _________________ Ever thought about having your own Life Coach?:

Okay, I've quickly copied and pasted what was an e-mail into the Good Souls template, so I can't promise it doesn't contain spelling errors or typos.
This is exactly as sent, except a couple of personal references that aren't relevant here were removed.
http://www.goodsouls.org.uk/silence.html
It was written as very much a personal message and wasn't intended for future publication at the time, so bear that in mind as you read it. My feelings as I wrote it were very affectionate - I was thinking in terms of the 'critical friend'. Luckily it was read and interpreted that way. _________________ Keeper of Good Souls Interactive the official fan archive at Starsailor.net

'Boo that really is lovely. My feelings about the album echo yours almost entirely, except I like White Dove and Telling Them best at the moment. I didn't like Shark Food very much at all at first, but I like it a lot now.
You write so well,'Boo! _________________ A Moomin is for life, not just for Christmas.xxx

I want to hear it....!!! Esp. after 'Boo's comments on "restless heart" having the same delicate quality with one of my favourites "she just wept"...
IT's so warm, effective and "coming from the heart" 'Boo. Thanks for sharing... _________________

OMG - I could echo almost every single thing you wrote Boo. I'm so glad you let us read that. I felt very disloyal (and disappointed) at first as I had the same misgivings, but now I feel really proud (right word?) of the album when people ask me about it.
I feel relieved more than anything! _________________ Ever thought about having your own Life Coach?:
