I'm kind of glad they won't be releasing it when I'm there, otherwise I'd be tempted to buy another copy.... _________________

I posted this in another topic here a few days ago about reliable sellers and sources etc.:
There have been issues expressed about the fact that some on-line sales of CDs are copy controlled and can be problematic if you want to play them in a PC CD player. Many of the cheaper sellers on-line are selling European copies which are copy controlled, the UK high street copies are not, so if it's an issue for you, ensure you get a UK version, the catalogue no. is 590 0072 - European copies may well be a different no.
Alternatively, you can buy a legal download copy to burn yourself from http://www.musicfromemi.com and prices, for the UK at least, are from 7.99 GB pounds sterling - obviously this doesn't give you the sleeve booklet etc., just the music. Look through the various alternative sites presented as they each offer slightly different prices, terms and payment options.
I've looked at the http://www.amazon.co.uk web site and the catalogue number is certainly the same as the UK CDs, so I suspect they'd be a UK copy - I'll try and establish that for certain.
An independent mail order company that I've worked with over a long time are http://www.townsend-records.co.uk/ and they are certainly an EMI reseller and I've found them very reliable for overseas supply when working with another band's CDs and I've just checked with them and their stock CDs aren't copy controlled. Their overseas supply would be 10.20 GB pounds plus P&P;, which is +2.80 to the US, +3.75 to Oz and Japan etc. and 11.99 + 2.00 in the EU as you need to pay VAT. Their sales also count towards the UK charts. _________________ Keeper of Good Souls Interactive at Starsailor.net

I'm assuming so, I don't know for certain, although sometimes Canada is the week or so before the US. Releases in other regions are determined and controlled by the label in that region, this MB is provided by the UK record company and we can only advise based on what they tell us, you'd need to check locally for a definitive answer. The Capitol Records web site will no doubt publish the latest release details. _________________ Keeper of Good Souls Interactive at Starsailor.net

I've bought used CDs from sellers on Amazon and had no problems. The beauty of Amazon over eBay is that you pay Amazon, they then pay the seller, so you're protected if using a credit card, it's just the same as buying directly from Amazon themselves. I never use a credit card on eBay, I always buy from UK sellers I can send a cheque or postal order to.

The version in a buff coloured card sleeve with starsailor and Silence Is Easy embossed on the front is a promo copy and contains the same tracks as the final version.
Buying this might be potentially problematic legally as the recipient of it never actually owns it, it remains the property of EMI and it states on the sleeve that it cannot be sold and EMI can ask for it back at any time and I know that sales of copies have been stopped for this reason.
If you want to get a legit copy in the US, http://www.amazon.co.uk can supply to the US and are cheaper than your local version. I have also worked with a mail order seller called Townsend Records and they are one of very few on-line retailers who's sales count to the UK chart, so you'd be helping Starsailor in that way. Their site is at http://www.townsend-records.co.uk - I do confess a past commercial arrangement with them, but that has ended now and I am more than happy to recommend their service - I've sold hundreds of CDs worldwide through them and never had a single complaint. Be aware if buying from a budget on-line seller that the cheaper copies are often European copies of the CD and these are copy controlled (UK high street, chart-eligible copies aren't) in the case of Silence Is Easy, which may be an issue if you want to play it in certain types of player, such as a PC. The promo version is also copy controlled.
Starsailor will be back in the US to perform live around the time of the album release there - which is 27th January - they are working on the plans for a US tour, which starts before the release date and ends after it. _________________ Keeper of Good Souls Interactive at Starsailor.net
