I finally got to see Starsailor in concert, my boyfriend grudingly drove the both of us from Portland, Maine into Boston (Boston is one of the worst places to drive -poor city layout mixed with aggressive drivers) We arrived with plenty of time to spare, but it took us a half an hour to find a place to park because most lots were reserved for Boston University students. By time we reached the Paradise Rock Club we missed almost the entire opening act.
As for Starsailor's performance I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was great when Walsh said in tribute to an Irish rock band who premired here in the US and then proceeded to sing an acoustic Where the Streets Have No Name. My boyfriend said to me that I was among three people that he noticed singing to the songs from the Silence is Easy album (he bought it for me on import back in September, but it isn't actually released in the States until Jan 26) not being a Starsailor fan himself, he was very impressed with Barry on keys. Some shortfalls to the show - the crowd lacked energy and the set seemed very short. But I had a good time and it was worth the trip.
Are there any old skool message board members who remember me and also went to the Boston show? _________________ am I the king of friction and heartache

i agree that the crowd was quite...but i think it's cause most of them have not heard any of the new songs...so i didn't feel it was innapropriate...but overall i thought they were really great and funny when James antagonized them...and about 60 of them bought the album and got to meet the band afterwards...also, the show was nearly sold out...
for a band with a brand new cd out and hasn't been in the states for almost 2 years, i think they did ok...
can't wait for the rest!

Thank you for the kind words Grasshopper, it's appreciated, but if you peruse other forums you'll see that my style clearly isn't popular with everyone. But thanks for saying it. _________________ Keeper of Good Souls Interactive at Starsailor.net
