Twilight Singers just came through and played at the Khyber in Philly, the show was unbelievable. Dulli did an informal memorial for Elliot Smith and Kurt Cobain, which was an awesome intro into 'Martin Eden'. Although I miss Harold Chichester and Fila Brazillia who are no longer in the band, the lyrics on 'Blackberry Belle' might be Dulli's best. If anyone is looking for something new to listen to, I don't believe you can go wrong with either of the Twilight Singer albums , or any of the Afghan Whigs albums (in particular, '1965' or 'Black Love'). It's good to see others out there are still giving Dulli love.
Feel it now and don't resist
This time the anger's better than the kiss
I must admit when so inclined
I tend to lose it than confront my mind - Dulli |

I considered flying to Philadelphia, but hotel/car/flight would run over $500!! Can we appeal to the tour manager to add at least one southeast date (like Atlanta or Orlando)? I'm so anxious to see this tour!! Any support would be welcome!

Here I was thinking that I was the sole Starsailor fan in Florida. An Orlando tour date would be incredibly nice, eh?

I'm not sure if they will ever read this and even if they do, probably wont remember me. But I wanted to say thank you again to the guys.
Starsailor have been my favorite band since before Love is Easy was released in the US. That album helped me through quite a rough patch in my life. (don't want this to sound sappy or anything) but I was given courage to change my life and the lives of my kids for the better because of that album.
So the second I found out that they were coming stateside to play, I just had to go. So I flew to Portland from Boise, ID to see them. After having a day of hectic frustration, barely making my flight, getting lost in a city I had never been in and being an hour late to the show, I walked in the venue and not one minute later they took to the stage.
After the amazing show, I hung around to see if I could meet them and say thank you for giving me courage. After about almost an hour, I figured I had missed my chance. I didn't think they were on their bus yet so I knocked on the window to ask whomever was on the bus if it were possible to meet them.
To my utter surprise and elation, James opened the blinds of the bus to see who was it rapping at the window. I think I startled him! He and Stel came and opened the door of the bus and I was so in shock that I could barely say hi. In fact, instead of the fan asking for an autograph, THEY asked me if I wanted one. Then I started to relax quite a bit and just thanked them profusely for coming to the states and playing and sharing their music. I told them that I had flown in that evening to see their show from Boise. James had said they stayed in Boise as they passed on through on their way to Vancouver, and liked it very much. (I'm sure you can tell a week later, I'm still in a little shock).
I am so happy to have gotten the chance to meet these sweet and gracious men. I just wish that I wasn't so star struck, because I forgot to tell them thank you for changing my life.
So in case they do ever read this... THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!! Love, Hilary _________________ "...where you are..." |

I was wondering how recent Crocodile show was? I couldn't get a ticket and can't wait to see them again in Seattle. Starsailor @ The Showbox was stellar, but that was too long ago. I prefer that venue though, but The Moore Theatre is my favorite. |
