I believe that you just can't compare the two albums. Love is here is strong because of the deep lyrics and Silence is easy is strong because of the sound and melodies. For me it's important that Starsailor has his own sound and style, which makes them so unique. _________________ It's a matter of a mind: if you don't mind, I don't matter... |

now that was exactly what i thought: for me those 2 albums are also 2 different ones, difficult/imposible to compare; for the same reason you mentioned-above. _________________ if dreams are like movies, then memories are films about ghosts... |

I also think that the first album of a band is different than the next. I hope that Starsailor's third album will be different than the first two, but still be containing the same style.

Craggy - BACK OFF.
Why do you always have to have a go at the newbies? It doesn't make you look big, or clever - and you're not being "realistic" - you're being a bully. Every newbie that's come on here you've taken a pop at. And you're out of order. Stop behaving like a spoiled child.
This section was specifically to 'discuss' the two albums. This is a DISCUSSION board after all. It has nothing to do with 'ethics'.
Right, go on - fire away. Can't WAIT to see what witty repartee you'll come up. _________________ *=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*

Even though 'Silence is Easy' is a good Album....and that's all it is.
'Love is Here' is about a million times better. Their 2nd album does not even come close to there first which left me slightly frustrated as I was expecting another epic.
Don't get me wrong, the second Album is good and I've listened to it loads, but it hasn't got the epic feel of the first.
If anyone hasn't got there first Album and likes the latest, go get it NOW! |

One difference I've noticed in two CDs is the content of the lyrics.
Love is Here has a broader range of topics that the lyrics discuss.
Silence is Easy has numerous lyrics discussing love and all that it encounters, undoubtedly because of James and his new fiancee.
Silence is Easy is good, but Love is Here is even better. _________________

I just like the melancholy simplicity of Love is Here over the more upbeat Silence is Easy. Not to say that I don't love both... _________________ Strangers passing in the street

It all depends on what I'm in as to which album I prefer.
I love listening to Love is Here when I'm driving around in the dark (I have no idea why though). But Silence is Easy reminds me of when I saw them live, so that too is good.
I'm not fussy, I love them both! |

Right. Songwriters are at the best when heartbroken, not enamored. _________________ Strangers passing in the street

In my humble opinion...
I believe "Love Is Here" is a stand-out album.
If the unspeakable had happened, and SS never released another album,
I think "Love Is Here" would have been spoken about in the same breath
as Jeff Buckley's stunning "Grace".
Perhaps one day it still will?
I doubt SS will ever be able to compile an album of such flawlessness.
I can only cite "Talk Her Down" as a slight weakness in a near perfect release. _________________ "Left my sweet soul
