I had pre ordered the DVD from Canada (I'm in the US) and went to check to see if it was delivered and discovered that the Canadian version will not be available until Jan 2003? Is this accurate? And if so when does the US one come out? |

I'm currently on holiday at the moment Layla so limited in what I can achieve till I'm back at my office on Monday. I've been asked this several times by e-mail this week, which would suggest that it is true, but I'll get an up to date release list from EMI next week.
I know that release of the NTSC version was already delayed due to production problems and they were hoping it wouldn't be delayed again, but that now looks as though it hasn't been avoided.
I'll post more early next week when I'm back in my normal routine and can get some more info. for you. _________________ Keeper of Good Souls Interactive at Starsailor.net

Apparently that's fairly typical for music DVDs/VHSs as opposed to feature films. The different versions are more to do with the PAL/NTSC issue than DVD regions which with films are as much about regional censorship and legislation as the technical format issues.
The conversation I had with the label suggested that chances are that it would play on a PC DVD drive and with appropriate software certainly would do and there are various mods you can apply to DVD players to get them play other region DVDs without much effort. This is not however the official line as there is no guarantee that it will work and the software and mods may be unreliable.
I suppose people will know on an individual basis what set up they have and whether they're prepared to risk taking action to get a different region disc to play. _________________ Keeper of Good Souls Interactive at Starsailor.net

It should be available anywhere on the high street and any retailer should be able to order it for you, as well as all mail order companies.
The catalogue number is 7 24349 29439 4 and it's on EMI.
If all else fails, this company have a good Starsailor stock at http://www.townsend-records.co.uk/acatalog/Townsend_Catalogue_Starsailor_939.html they perhaps aren't as cheap as others, but I've been working with them for many years and sold literally thousands of CDs through them where they have exclusive releases and I can't recall ever having a complaint. I'm very happy to recommend them. I don't gain anything from Starsailor sales, but I do have a business relationship with them.
There is a Starsailor connection though, as they have a shop in Chorley and James bought his copy of Neil Young's Harvest there. _________________ Keeper of Good Souls Interactive at Starsailor.net

What about the release in the Netherlands? I did see Belgium and Germany on the list...but if I don't have to I'd rather not travel to Germany for it... |
