|
|
I've done this previously with UK appearances, so while they're across the pond, I'll try and continue the idea for their tour schedule. There are a lot of newly confirmed PAs, in-stores and media appearances now outlined in the calendar section of http://www.starsailor.net - events and live gigs are each highlighted differently and you can view the calendar section several ways according to your own personal preferences.
I'll try and pad out those entries with more information, as and when I come across it, although being in the UK, it's more difficult when I'm not familiar with the shows and don't already have contacts I can call upon for details. But I'll post snippets as I encounter them and I'll add details to the topic in approximate chronological order so that it refreshes as having new posts and acts as a reminder.
Most of the web sites for radio stations below have web cast of their output, so those of us not local may also be able to hear some of the appearances, so if I get any time details, or if anyone locally can add to the post, we can perhaps have the opportunity to listen in too.
First up:
TODAY 16th January - Toronto - The Mike Bullard show - acoustic performance
http://www.canada.com/entertainment/features/mikebullard/contact.html it appears to be a daily TV show filmed in front of a live audience in an afternoon at the new Global Theatre at 98 The Esplanade in Toronto. It is aired on TV at midnight each weekday. Details on the site as to how to get tickets.
19th January - Boston - Middle East Upstairs - gig for comp winners through WFNX
See http://www.fnxradio.com/1/home.asp
The gig is at the Middle East Club, 472/480 Mass Ave, Cambridge MA, phone: 617-864-EAST They are giving away tickets on-air to listeners in their 'listen to win' cometition so tune in to find out how you can attend.
20th January - Boston - WXRV Interview/Acoustic Performance
http://www.wxrv.com/ 'The River 92.5 FM - they have an acoustic cafe that is aired 08:00-10:00am on Sunday mornings, so it may not be played live - their web site is scant on schedule detail etc.
20th January - Boston - WBOS Interview/Acoustic Performance
http://www.wbos.com/ 92.9FM _________________ Keeper of Good Souls Interactive at Starsailor.net

thanks Boo! they're gonna be quite busy whilst they're here...i went to the FNX website and see that Gomez is playing the Paradise on the 19th...i'd venture to guess the Starsailors will be taking in that show, at the very least Ben will probably be going... |

That might not be possible, their schedule for the next month is absolutely punishing and on the 19th they're doing their own gig of course as detailed above.
On that note, they are doing so many local appearances and radio snippets etc. some of which are being arranged as they go along, as well as those already formally scheduled (see the calendar section), if you're in the US, you'll need to keep your ear to the ground locally when they're in your area - it just isn't always going to be possible - with time differences etc. - to post every detail we'd like to - but having said that, we'll do our best of couse. _________________ Keeper of Good Souls Interactive at Starsailor.net

yes, but the radio station website lists the starsailor gig on the 19th as a lunchtime gig...
and for all the 15-25 year olds in the nyc area there's the Fuse taping on 1/26...
the photos of the shows in the uk showed great colors...i'm considering bringing a 3d camera to one of the gigs...i did that for a U2 show and the slides are fantastic! |

Well- I can't believe the day is finally here where i will see Starsailor with my husband!! I will do all I can to get up front ( I am short- so I MUST!!)
I hope they are having a good stay in my homestate- and I know tonight will be amazing!! This is most likely what I'll look like: !!!!
I am so excited, I could blow chunks!!!
I really am! I don't think I have ever gotten this excited before a concert- maybe it's because I love them so much and I could possibly get something signed!! That's when I look like this: !!!!
Well- got to drive for 2 hours to get to Boston; get our tickets, hang out and I will stake my claim to the front of the stage (hopefully)!!!
Yaay!! Starsailor I love you!!

I went , was so early was fortunate enough to meet James W. coming out of the bus!! (patient sweet guy with the bluest eyes!!!)!-
I really like the fact fans can obtain an interview CD and aftershow meet/greet pass- that was amazing!! Might I say Ben is so very sweet and kind and my experience up front ( yes I got up there!) was made even sweeter by James announcing it was my birthday and they performed my FAVORATE song "Love Is Here"...
The whole show was great!! James belted out every song perfectly- and everyone else played great as well.
James' accoustic was U2's "Streets Have No Name"..
My husband loves U2, so he thought that was cool!
I got all my stuff signed and if the pictures come out I will send them to Boo to post.
That was the best Birthday present I ever could of possibly have gotten!
Great show and I wish them NOTHING BUT THE BEST for the rest of their visit to the states..
Much Love- Linda

Hi Boo-
Any chance the band will be signing autographs while in Chicago? My friends and I will be at the Metro and would be overjoyed at a chance to get an autograph/meet the band. |

boziz1 I don't have any specifics of anything in Chicago, there's nothing in my schedule. But having said that, it doesn't mean that there isn't something happening that's been arranged locally. Because the tour is under the control of US promoters and the US record label (and I don't work for them) getting details isn't as easy as it is in the UK and Europe - especially as arrangements are being made in the US as they go along, in conjunction with the tour manager. The official advice I have is that fans should keep their ears to the ground locally and perhaps speak to the venue to see if there are any other arrangements in place around specific gigs - a lot seems to be being done with local radio stations, so keep your ears peeled. Sorry, but I can't offer any more specifics than that - but as and when I do hear anything, I'll post it of course.
Lindee, I'm delighted that the experience turned out to be everything that you hoped it would be, it sounds like you couldn't have improved on it much. Glad you had such a great birthday! _________________ Keeper of Good Souls Interactive at Starsailor.net

I did indeed, I'll try and reply properly in the morning, as I'm sure you can imagine with all these dates and appearances, my mailbox has been overloaded and I'm trying to reply fully to everyone in turn. _________________ Keeper of Good Souls Interactive at Starsailor.net

Some more snippets:
Minneapolis on Thursday 29th January; Cities 97 (KTCZ) 'Studio C' Interview/Acoustic Performance see http://www.cities97.com/studioc.html which looks like it might be web cast.
Minneapolis on Thursday 29th January; Drive 105 Acoustic Performance http://www.drive105.com/ - there's a competition to get to sit in on the session - looks like you need to be a member to enter - so sign up first.
Boulder on Saturday 31st January KBCO 'Studio C' Acoustic Performance, see http://www.kbco.com/studioc/ it looks like it's web cast and they have a web cam and there are some good gallery shots and archive audio from previous performers.
I don't have local times for any of these events, so if anyone hears times, can they please post so that others elsewhere have an opportunity to catch the webcasts etc.

Thursday 29th - the day they're in Minneapolis - my mistake, I'll correct it. I've got problems with my eyesight at the moment and making a lot of daft mistakes, sorry. _________________ Keeper of Good Souls Interactive at Starsailor.net

In the abscence of anyone local posting times, this one looks as though it might be 4pm local time and as Minneapolis is 6 hours behind GMT, that would make it midnight here in the UK and 01:00am on mainland Europe. I just tried the web cast and this one is free to listen to (some of the previous URLs posted required you to pay a subscription to listen in) and worked efficiently enough when I tried it.
If you have a look at the Artist Photo Album at http://www.cities97.com/artistphotoalbum.html there's a picture of James from 2002 when he performed there, almost exactly two years ago. _________________ Keeper of Good Souls Interactive at Starsailor.net
