I had a short time slot in which to interview James Walsh on September 24/06. What a nice fellow! Afterwards I attended the concert, and I found his voice to actually be better live than on his last cd (usually it's the other way around). His voice was so clear and beautiful, I wish I had asked if he ever had formal voice training.
Anyhow, hope you enjoy the interview.

Just read this and it covers quite a lot. Bit more than your standard questions. Was particularly interested on James take on the albulm sales. Hope the band can do something before Christmas if they are not too knackered after the tour. |

When I was browsing for pictures of Vancouver I saw this incredible landmark and wondered what it was.
It's 'Scienceworld'.
As our heart and minds are in science (Stu&Me) I had to find out more.
http://www.scienceworld.bc.ca/
Here in the North East we have something similar, but certainly not as impressive:
The ‘Centre for Life’
Times Square, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 4EP
Tyne & Wear, England http://www.life.org.uk/
'Visit the Life Science Centre where you'll discover just how truly amazing life is. Explore where life comes from and how it works. With only 4 letters in its alphabet, find out how the secret language of DNA spells out instructions for every species on Earth. Discover how the union of a single sperm and egg becomes a five trillion-cell baby. Meet your ancestors and decide if you're more closely related to a pig, a lizard or a cauliflower! All living creatures are connected to each other and to their ancestors - stretching back to just a bundle of cells 4 billion years ago. Find out what makes you unique, test your brainpower and enjoy the thrill of the motion simulator ride - whenever you visit, you'll have the time of your Life!' |

Visiting Vancouver - sounds great. Much more interesting than visiting Newcastle. Below I have posted some pics, they are new works by Sarah Jane Szikora, an interesting look at Newcastle. The first one is 'Totty On The Tyne', the view is of the Tyne Bridges taken from the Quayside in front of the Law Courts, looking east to west on a typical night out. It could be anytime of year, no-one ever wears a jacket out (guess that's the same everywhere these days).
This next one is 'Angel Of The North'. It really does stand that tall. 20 metres (65 feet) high, its wings are 54 metres (175 feet) wide and made from 200 tonnes of steel. It was commissioned by Gateshead Council to create a landmark sculpture at the entrance to Tyneside. In reality it is not polished as it seems in the picture. It is raw steel that has rusted with humidity and has a very rough texture when touched. It is not fenced off and visitors are able to walk up to it and touch it. It can be seen from the A1 on the approach to Gateshead, and when it was first erected there was a marked increase in RTA's on that stretch of the road!

Two years ago I was in Vancouver for 3 months. It's such a great city! I really enjoyed. And when I saw that Starsailor was giving a gig there, I just wanted to go back there! _________________ "Let's watch the clock until the sun does rise" |
