I think so. That's not a very flattering photo of Wilma, she was sleepy, you can tell by the droopy whiskers. We only have the one cat now, the big ginger one, I have a lot of photos of, left us this summer. We miss him terribly, it's still noticeably quiet - and tidy - without him. _________________ Keeper of Good Souls Interactive the official fan archive at Starsailor.net See the Starsailor FAQ

Wilma thought I looked like I really needed help writing Christmas cards. She actually pushed her way under my hand as I was writing and settled right where I was writing, there's a half written card under her belly. Wait till I start wrapping prezzies, she's really good at that.
All the cats do that. When my brother is typing on the comp, there's always one of his cats on the keyboard .
He came to us as a rescue cat, already old and in very bad shape and we thought if we could give him a few months in better circumstances we'd be happy enough with that. He was with us 4 years. The vet said he hadn't given him more than a year, with his medical history. He was a larger than life character and left a big hole.
We've always had two cats, but Wilma was seemingly so happy when he went, when we hadn't even realised that she wasn't when he was here, that as she's now old herself, we'd not stress her with introducing another new cat now. She's still enjoying being head cat, so we'll leave it as it is for now. I think she just enjoys getting twice as much attention.

Thank you. Funny you should mention the second one, that was a happy accident. I'd discarded it as no good largely, along with a batch taken that day, as too dreary to be worth working on until someone on the photography forum started a mini challenge about black and white snow scenes so I looked for one that might work in B&W - I haven't got many snow scenes. By the time I'd boosted the saturation and contrast before making it B&W, to expand the tones, I decided I liked it in colour and when printed it worked quite well, so it got added to my cards. _________________ Keeper of Good Souls Interactive the official fan archive at Starsailor.net See the Starsailor FAQ
Thank you, we miss him, he left a big void to fill - but Wilma's giving it her best shot. He just ran out of steam in the summer and made his last visit to the vets. It was discussed here, you must just have missed it.
He was content to the last, he never outwardly suffered, he just stopped eating and the vet suggested that it would be cruel to intervene - and we agreed, we knew the time had come and so did he. It's been a very emotional year one way and another.
Reading an article in the 'Independent' on Wednesday;
* An estimated 4.7 million women in the UK own cats
* Research by the cat food industry indicate that those women are from the trendiest section of society
* ‘They have the appeal of a dismissive bad boy: they’ll ignore you 95% of the time but then rub up and down your leg and you’ll think ‘wow!'
from: 'Cat Counsellor: How Your Cat Really Relates to You' by Vicky Halls
* Coming to your TV screen (or perhaps already here): The makers of Sheba have hired Hollywood director Martha Fiennes (sister of Ralph) to film a new advertising campaign aimed at attracting, "stylish" and "independent" women to their product. The £1m, three-part commercial based on Alice in Wonderland stars the ballerina Monica Zamora, together with models: Eva Imsa and Meritxell.
