_The Cat's Diary_

Day 983 of my captivity.

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.

They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet. Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates my capabilities. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am.

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow, but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches.

The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released, and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.

The bird must be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move.

My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now...

Yeah but they bite hard, dont have the decency to crap in places where I dont have to clean it up, and eat small children. Plus they eat anything, dogs are dirty. Cats are bright, a little smug and far more affectionate, not just cause they want something.

You've not met Wilma then?! She's the queen of cupboard love.

She has extraordinarily expressive whiskers and when she's excited they perk up a treat and this in turn pudges up her little kitty chops, which she then rubs on you and looks up at you with big eyes. Fabulously cute, but very shallow.

If you need proof of her cuteness, see this video clip - you need Real Player: http://www.zenadsl5251.zen.co.uk/photos/videos/wilmalunch_f11_0308smaller.ram

I need to record this mealtime process again as her back legs are static and normally she bounces and hops up and down too - which is cute off the scale! Don't laugh at Mr. Boo's trousers.

Please tell me you are joking? Otherwise that kind of attitude makes me very angry! Dogs are not dirty or dangerous unless cared for by dangerous people. Dogs give uncondictional love and only irresponsible owners dont clean up the poo. I always scoop Archie's poo!

As for eating children, well I was not at all scared of having a dog near a baby but I was worried about the cat climbing in the cot and smothering him or scratching him. The only pet injuries I've ever sustained were from cat scratches and I know someone who got sceptacemia that way - so cats are way more dangerous in my book Very Happy

We certainly think so. I'm afraid I do rather shamefully torment her into doing things that are cute, purely for my own amusement. Bad Boo!

Emma, I agree with you that most dogs are not dangerous, but even if they're not aggressive they can do some damage in their enthousiasm. When I was a little girl this golden retriever jumped on top of me from behind, causing me to fall pretty hard... Ever since that I have a dog phobia.

But I guess the same goes for cats when they push out their claws with sheer pleasure Wink

I am really looking forward to seeing my cat again on Sunday, it's been a month and she does miss me according to my parents. Very Happy
Oh, this is so strange. Our previous cat Sodapop, who has died 5 years ago or something, sometimes pops up in my dreams. But not as a cat, it's her character that plays a role in those dreams.
