If you've not heard this yet, buy the album NOW. Download the EP ASAP!

It is simply awesome, and as only wetted my wish to hear the album. It's been too long since the last LP (and, come to that, last studio track back in May 2006).

Boy In Waiting sounds even stronger than the couple of live performances I've heard of it, and the bells at the end give it a festive feel.

Do You Believe in Love could have easily fitted in on the last album; raw guitars and a nice hook line. (Liking Stel's Bass here too).

Black Limousine fits joins Let It Shine, From A Whisper To A Scream and Always in the quality B-Side category. If this isn't on the album, it must be a killer LP!

Darling Be Home Soon is arguably better than the original. James' voice when singing soulful acoustic numbers always sounds beautiful, and the guitar/piano work compliment this further.

Wow.

That's pretty much what they've said - they feel that the album is so strong that they've left off tracks that would have made it onto any other. They had a hard job deciding which fitted well together for the album and which to leave off. Black Limousine and Do You Believe In Love? were both very close contenders for album tracks and only just didn't make it on there.

With Love is Here, this is the album they're most proud of and excited about - I'm picking up a vibe from everyone that I didn't get last time. They're dying to hear what people think of it.

I'm glad the structure has been considered again - they got it right with the last album, leaving Always off of it; a great track, but it doesn't fit in anywhere.

I'm listening as many times as I can. Toby has grown tall enough to reach the buttons and keeps opening the CD draw.........

Boy in Waiting is awesome. I think it'll be lodged in my brain for days and days.

I agree wholeheartedly with Nick about the next 2 tracks. The chorus of Black Limosuine is a bit like All Or Nothing (or is that just me?) I don't know the original of Darling Be Home Soon, so I can't compare it, but this version is lovely. James' voice really suits it.

I know that the boys are very proud of the album, their passion and enthusiasm for it has been evident when I've spoken to them. Stel told me that Neon Skies (I think that's what he said) is even better than the tracks they've been playing live.

Oh, and does anyone else know how Loving Spoonful are meant to have come by their name?

Can I cheat?

The band's name was inspired by some lines in a song of Mississippi John Hurt called the "Coffee Blues". John Sebastian credits Fritz Richmond for suggesting the name. When asked about his band, Sebastian said it sounded like a combination of "Mississippi John Hurt and Chuck Berry".

My mind went exactly to what Emma was thinking. Rather like 10cc. There are two versions of that story too - depending on which member of the band is telling it.

For those who've not heard the original

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_2bnAA9wjw

Come
And talk of all the things we did today
Here
And laugh about our funny little ways
While we have a few minutes to breathe
Then I know that it's time you must leave

But darling be home soon
I couldn't bear to wait an extra minute if you dawdled
My darling be home soon
It's not just these few hours but I've been waiting since I toddled
For the great relief of having you to talk to

And now
A quarter of my life is almost past
I think I've come to see myself at last
And I see that the time spent confused
Was the time that I spent without you
And I feel myself in bloom

So darling be home soon
I couldn't bear to wait an extra minute if you dawdled
My darling be home soon
It's not just these few hours but I've been waiting since I toddled
For the great relief of having you to talk to

------ instrumental break ------

Darling be home soon
I couldn't bear to wait an extra minute if you dawdled
My darling be home soon
It's not just these few hours but I've been waiting since I toddled
For the great relief of having you to talk to

Go
And beat your crazy head against the sky
Try
And see beyond the houses and your eyes
It's ok to shoot the moon

So darling
My darling be home soon
I couldn't bear to wait an extra minute if you dawdled
My darling be home soon
It's not just these few hours but I've been waiting since I toddled
For the great relief of having you to talk to

God, I've only just clicked about 10cc.

Boy In Waiting really is brilliant, shimmery and understated and beautiful.

Don't dare to download. A while ago, I received a song to download this way. I did and had to do a 'system restore' afterwards Sad . I had to pay again and download it again, successfully this time.
