They played football at the Madejski Stadium in Reading for Soccer Six in May 2004, but I don't think they've played live music there.

I couldnt think of anywhere worse to play.

Good for you Bliss Very Happy so glad you enjoyed them. My other half likes Starsailor but wouldn't exactly say he's a fan but still reckons they're one of the best live bands he's seen. I'm with you on the kids thing - you can't just up and go without having to sort out some major logistical planning! Just wish I could make it to Bath tonight Sad

The Madejski is.

Horrible, souless venue.

Miles out of the town centre + the train station.

A pig to get out of.

Plastic venue.

I hate going to football there - luckily only once a season - and I'd hate to go to a gig there.

Hi Q-Nick

Totally agree with you on the Madjeski ('cept when Liverpool are playing). However Reading itself has some really nice smaller venues (the hexagon sucks however) and it's a Fairtrade town too Smile . Read your summary on this tour and, yes, smaller venues are always better (whatever music you're into). I only got to see them at Southampton this time round but loved every hot and sweaty minute of it. Was on a major downer on Tuesday though! Will just have to look forward to seeing them in the Spring (though I have got a Joseph Arthur gig to look forward to in November)

I'm not sure if my original post inferred a complete hatred of Reading - if so I'm sorry.

I've heard bad stories about the Hexagon, too, so you've reinforced that.

Being on a downer after the shows is something I get too........best be off, the nurse is waiting.
