what was everyone's first Starsailor show? I saw them at The Roadhouse in Manchester just before 'Fever' s release. Not seen them too recently though, but caught them a few times on the first album. Astoria was awesome too, along with the NME tour |

I was always a fan but forgot about them for a bit after 2nd album. Then i heard they were playing at Leeds uni in 2005 and thought why not? After that i was hooked! Seen them since at Leeds Cockpit and going to Edinbugh in a couple of weeks. Cockpit best for me so far as it was quite intimate. _________________ My restless heart beats like a wanton drum |

Well, I'm a big fan of their music since the release of "Alcoholic" in France in 2002, but I saw them for the first time live last year on July the 9th, when they were supporting U2 in Paris ! For me, they're were so great on stage, now I can't miss a gig nearby or further ... _________________ Turn your head to face the sun

They became a real obsession for me. I remember travelling down from Manchester to London to see them finish that first tour at the ULU. For most people it's not really too far, but I was a student and it was the other end of the country almost!
Also caught them at T In The Park the first time they played which was pretty cool, and you could tell they were going to break massively.
I also paid for Ebay only tickets that were sold through a charity for a tiny sit-down gig in Soho (London) - £50 for the pair and a starsailor charity t-shirt! That was early on, but it was dead weird being in such a small venue, with no standing space. |

Like Dodovox, it was 'Alcoholic' that really brought the band to my attention! I loved the song as it was 'real music with guitars, piano and the most amazing voice I have ever heard!'
After all the synthesised rubbish that had been around at that time,it was so refreshing to hear such brilliance and that song still evokes the same reaction in me every time I hear it.
I had to wait until Xmas 2004 at Hammersmith to see them 'live', as having a young child put my social life on hold for a few years.
I think I've made up for lost time though in the past year ,travelling to Lyon, Aix-les-Bains and Belfast as well as seeing them at Dingwalls,Kempton Park,Somerset House,Brixton again to name a few! Not that I'm counting.....! I can't compete with the SSMB gods, but it's not a competion!
I'm rambling on again.......!

I won tickets for the ULU gig, but my PC was in for service so I couldn't claim them.

My first was V2002 which I won tickets for in a competition on this very board! The next time I saw them was at the Astoria on the NME tour and that was the gig I had an asthma attack at. See, its always been eventful with me
Since then I really have racked up so many that I've lost count, I've been so lucky and spoiled. Its about 20 I think. There have been intimate accoustic sessions, festivals and everything in-between. None have been a let down, althought some are always better than others. I think the hightlights would have to include the first Fair Trade gig they did at the Coronet, the Isle of Wight last year and Paris this year.
I've hung up my Starsailor gigging boots for a while now I'm pregnant and it'll be a while before I can put them back on. _________________ I'm suffering from the worst kind of lonlieness, the lonlieness of being misunderstood. You seem to have seen a lot of shows this year!
I'm more than happy with my nine - many people have seen more shows than me but for an 18yr who has only ever worked part time, I don't think its too shabby! _________________ Little One , Do Not Fear |

I've seen the guys 20 times in 5 different coutries now... my first time was at Pukkelpop 2003. I knew some of the songs from hearing them on the radio (Alcoholic, Tie up my Hands, ...) and I didn't even had my own copy Love is Here even, but this changed very fast after the festival!
I like the most the small intimate guys like they did in october last year.
I also like them a lot on festivals when they are in brilliant shape like Rock Werchter this year or Lokerse Feesten last year.
A big difference makes the audience the better the atmoshpere is in the audience the better the band gets ! But I can tell you once you've see them live you want more, more, more ! _________________ Please James Tie Up my hands |

Trabendo Paris, October 11 2005. I saw Starsailor live 3 times until now .
But I saw James before, at Brighton Corn Exchange (October 2003). I was there for The Music, and Starsailor performed the same night . I saw James chatting with a girl after the show . I didn't know who he was though . |

But I waited long enough! I'd been a member of this board for quite a while before they finally came back to Holland (or so I keep telling myself ) _________________ |
